The sun is setting in Orlando, Florida as Scaling New Heights 2017 has come to the end. We’ve faced, challenged and defeated the Yetis within ourselves and as a family. Over the course of four days, we listened to fascinating keynotes, held and attended educational sessions, networked with the new and connected with the old. We’re already eagerly awaiting Scaling New Heights 2018 – Taming the Machines – in Atlanta, Georgia.
SNH ’17 presented us with a great lineup of keynotes: Joe Woodard of Woodard Events; Rich Preece of Intuit; Alex Barnett of Intuit, Stephen M. R. Covey of Coveylink; Les McKeown of Predictable Success; and Ken Malquist of Disney. While they all stayed true to the theme of the conference, they each approached their segments in unique ways. As always, during a certain keynote, the ProAdvisors of the Year awards are handed out leading to some very inspiring moments and celebration. We can’t wait to see who Joe lines up for us next year.
For the last few years, we’ve partnered with our friends at Mendelson Consulting, Mario Nowogrodzki and Keith Fileccia, to host a couple of educational sessions at Scaling New Heights.
This year, Mario hosted Session One: “When to Step Out Beyond QuickBooks for Inventory Management.” Guests packed in the conference room leaving standing room only for the late-comers – Mario definitely knows how to draw a crowd. Mario explained the signs ProAdvisors need to look for when their customers are struggling to manage inventory with QuickBooks’ limited capacities. It was an active audience with attendees asking questions about Acctivate and system features such as Unit of Measure capabilities, advanced pricing, multiple currencies, custom assemblies and more.
Keith hosted Session Two: “Inventory Management Beyond QuickBooks: What’s Next,” the sessions fell back-to-back to allow a building block for guests. Keith educated attendees on the steps advisors need to take when guiding clients towards a solution. The audience seized the opportunity to better understand software options and how to decide which software is right for each client. Keith explained the importance of first administering a “needs assessment,” followed by use of the assessment to help determine the right solution.
Erik Moeller, Dakota May and Lauren Stine hosted attendees at our booth from Monday through Wednesday and had a great turnout. We received insightful feedback from those who attended our sessions, held a referral contest, met with advisors new and old, visited exhibits and answered an array of questions about Acctivate. We also took some silly pictures, and who doesn’t enjoy silly pictures? Each year we look forward to having the opportunity to represent Acctivate at SNH.
On Monday evening, we held a meet-up for our partners at the Rix Lounge. The drink of the night was a Pomegranate Pop, a colorful martini rimmed with pop rocks. Yum! We enjoyed spending an evening visiting with our partners and consultants. Catching up while sipping cocktails with friends in beautiful Orlando, Florida was a fantastic way to spend a Monday night.
