Athleticism is a learned skill for some and a natural talent for others; others like Zach Allen, manager of support for Acctivate.
Zach is 35, lives in Fort Worth, Texas and recently ran the Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half in Leadville, Colorado on Saturday, June 17. During the marathon, participants run through Leadville’s historic mining district, confronting old mining roads and rugged trails, reaching a high of 13,185 feet as they cross Mosquito Pass.
The race began at 8:04 A.M. and the temperature reached a sunny 72 degrees.
Through harsh winds and rough terrain with the occasional snowbank, Zach completed the Leadville full marathon of 26.2 miles in 5 hours, 59 minutes and 44 seconds, accomplishing his personal goal of finishing in less than six hours. Zach finished 73 out of the 128 out in his age group, 185 out of the 390 in his gender group and 223 out of the 546 overall marathoners.
When Zach reached the outskirts of the finish line, his son, Hatcher, joined him and they crossed the finish line together while Zach’s wife, Lauren, cheered from the sidelines.
Congratulations on a job well done and for achieving your goals, Zach! We’re proud of you!
